Srinagar: A day after some purported photographs about the X-ray and City Scan of the body of Srinagar youth went viral, authorities Friday said that it will take at least a week to prepare autopsy report about Shabir Ahmed Mir whose body was exhumed on Thursday on the directions of Supreme Court of India.
Shabir Ahmed Mir, a mason by profession and a resident of Tengapora Batamaloo according to his family members was allegedly killed by a police officer at his residence on July 10.
Chief Medical Officer Srinagar Dr Bashir Ahmed Malik said a team of experts after preparing the autopsy report will submit it before the Principal and District Sessions Judge and it will at least take a week’s time.
Responding to a question, Dr Malik said that he doesn’t know who has been uploading the news along with photographs about the outcome of the autopsy report on social media.
Pertinently, a photograph claiming to be the X-Ray and City Scan of the body of slain youth has gone viral where the users referring to the photograph claim that pellets are being found into the body of the deceased youth.
“Let me clear it we have not made the autopsy report public. It will take a week’s time and we will only handover the report to the Principal and District Session’s judge,” he said.
Worth to mention here that the team of doctors who carried the autopsy compromised Dr Riyaz, Dr Arsalan, Dr Zahid, and Dr Zaffar.
The Supreme Court had last week directed that the body of the youth be exhumed for conducted autopsy. The directions came after state government challenged the order of Jammu and Kashmir High Court which had upheld the order of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, directing police to file FIR against DSP Yasir Qadri.
“We direct the State Authorities to proceed in the matter in accordance with the provisions of law and to submit the Post Mortem Report, in a sealed cover, on or before 5th September, 2016,” SC division bench comprising justices P C Ghose and Amitava Roy had said.
In his complaint before the court of law, Abdul Rehman Mir had alleged that DSP Yasir Qadri and other police personnel had barged into his house at Tengpora, Batamaloo, at 6:45 pm on July 10.
“I along with the family members was watching TV and police party headed by Yasir Qadri forcibly entered my house and started smashing windows and doors. My wife tried to stop the police officer,” Mir alleged in the complaint.
“But on this, the police official was infuriated and he assaulted us and hurled invectives upon my wife. My son, Shabir Ahmad Mir, who was present on the spot could not bear beating of his parents and tried to rescue his mother from the clutches of the said police official and other police personnel. On this, the said police official lost his state of mind and started beating my son. Thereafter, he fired two shots on my son from point-blank range. He died on spot,” it states.
