SRINAGAR: Authorities on Wednesday put strict curfew and restrictions across the Kashmir valley especially the Sringaar city to thwart 'UN March' of 'United Resistance' camp.
All roads leading to United Nations Office in Srinagar were on Wednesday sealed off. The harsh restrictions were imposed after 'United Resistance' camp called for ‘UN March’.
The 'United Resistance' camp had asked people to take out 72-hour long ‘UN March’ from this morning. However, government clamped down with harsh curfew sealing all roads leading to UN Office at Sonwar here.
Meanwhile Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was arrested on Wednesday when he tried tgo march towards United Nations office in Sonwar Srinagar.
According to Hurriyat (M) media advisor Adv Shahid Ul Islam, Mirwaiz was whisked away in a police jeep to Police Station Nigeen after he walked out of his residence towards UNMOGIP.
