Srinagar: Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) has expressed deep disappointment and anger over the outcome of the debate in Rajya Sabha over Kashmir issue and termed it as a “desperate attempt” to maintain status-quo on the political instability in Kashmir.
Party spokesperson Inam-un-Nabi in a statement issued Wednesday evening said, “the participants cutting across political lines, were united against Kashmiris and simply wanted to advise them just to maintain law and order, as if there were no other issues.”
He said that and the reply given by Home Minister Rajnath Singh was “ample proof” to conclude that all political parties were in a “threatening mood” to Kashmiris, “if they (Kashmir) continued to press for resolution of Kashmir dispute”.
The party spokesperson said that AIP chief Er Rasheed will lead a 72-hour peaceful sit-in in Srinagar, starting from 12th August against the “arrogant” attitude of Indian political parties and to “give a message louder and clear that people of J&K are not against peace but will never surrender their legitimate right, seeking resolution to J&K dispute in its historic perspective”.
