New Delhi: BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav today said the situation in the Kashmir Valley is tense and the state government must act tough against the separatists.
According to reports, Madhav said the central government is extending all support to normalise the situation in the state, but more work needs to be done.
He said the Kashmir policy of the Narendra Modi government is the same as that of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
"Our policies for Kashmir have not changed. And there is only one policy — that Kashmir is an integral part of India," Madhav said.
Madhav's remark comes a day after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urged the central government to adopt Vajpayee-like approach towards Kashmir.
He said the state government has a double task — one to curb the violence and second to make the life of common man in the state comfortable.
