SRINAGAR:Government Forces on Saturday destroyed the Shamiyana which was installed in a Pulwama village was destroyed by forces on Saturday morning.
Reports said that people from Pulwama villages were on way to Chandangam village, which lies on Pulwama-Awantipora route, where a big pro-freedom rally was scheduled.
“Forces came early today and burnt down the Pandal and other minor tents erected,” sources said, “tractors which were carrying necessary items and people were damaged beyond repair by the forces.”
The sources said that several motor bikes and autos were attacked and damaged.
“Hundreds of people were on way to the area but forces disrupted the rally,” sources said adding, “however, people resisted and pro-freedom sloganeering went on.”
“People were lathi charged but no one was injured,” sources said.
