SRINAGAR:Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq were arrested as they marched towards the Hazratbal shrine from their residences today.
Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani was arrested after he tried to march towards Hazratbal as part of Unified Resistance Leaderships call for a march to the revered shrine.
As soon as the octogenarian leader appeared outside his residence where he is being placed under house arrest, cops deployed there arrested him and shifted him to police station Humhama..
Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was also arrested and shifted to Nigeen Police Station as soon after he came out of his residence at Nigeen to march towards Dargah Hazratbal.
