Srinagar: The family of a youth, who as per South African authorities had died in an accident there ten days ago, has contested the claims and called his death as murder.
Amir Bashir,20, son of Bashir Ahmad of Rajouri Kadal had purportedly died in an accident. His body was today flown to Srinagar after 10 days of his death.
Amirs body reached Srinagar at a time when entire Valley is simmering in intense clashes amid shutdown.
As per family, Amir was working in a South African medical agency from the last five years.
After his body reached airport here, his father brought his body to Press Enclave to interact with media and from there his body was taken for last rites by his family members.
I completely refute the claims made by South African authorities that my son had died in an accident. There is no such mark that indicates he had died in an accident. It is a murder, he said.
He was working in a medical agency in South Africa from last five years, his sudden death has left our family in shock. I appeal the authorities to look into the matter was his death cause an accident or was he murdered, he added.
