Srinagar: In a joint statement Hurriyat leadership, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, have extended call for protests and complete shutdown for next 72 hours starting from Saturday morning till Monday evening.
According to the the Hurriyat leadership, the reason for extending the strike call for next three days was to protest against the state terror.
We are being chocked as we are not even allowed to mourn our dead. Our political religious and human rights are being trampled upon and we are not even allowed any space for peaceful protests so in such a scenario strike will continue for the next 72 hours, the united Hurriyat said.
According to the leaders, on July 16, people are appealed to observe shutdown and protests after maghrib prayers and raise pro freedom slogans.
While continuing protest strike on July 17, people of Kashmir valley are asked to visit the families of recent martyrs and injured in order to pay tribute to their courageous role in the on-going movement.
Furthermore, on July 18, people of Kashmir shall organize freedom march in their respective districts.
