SRINAGAR: The pro freedom leaders Monday said that the martyrdom of Burhan Wani and his two aides is the continuation of martyrdom of 13th July 1931 and called for the extension of the ongoing Hartal till 13th July in the whole valley.
The leadership in a joint statement issued to KNS said that 13th July would be observed as the reaffirmation Day and all the three leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq and Yasin Malik would march from Hyderpora Jamia Masjid and Maisuma towards Mazar-e-Shuhda Naqshband Sahab, respectively.
The people would raise and repeat the slogan of right to self determination, they said.
The leadership has warned the government to stop the killing of innocent and unarmed people of Kashmir during the peaceful protests otherwise the situation would take a serious turn and New Delhi along with the state would be held responsible for that.
They termed government’s appeal for helping to restore normalcy as a childish and illogical statement. The Indian forces altogether including the JK police and their actions are responsible for the current situation. The situation arising in the hospitals of the valley is scary and the Indian forces are targeting the youth by firing bullets into heads and chests of our innocent children. The government should advice their masters in New Delhi to end the genocide and not to resort to the targeted killings of innocent youth, they said.
The leadership said that Kashmir is not a war mongering nation but is a peace loving nation and are in need of peace.
However, the key to open the doors of peace is with India. If they concede the disputed status of Kashmir and resolve it as per the wishes of Kashmir, normalcy will prevail not only Kashmir but the whole of South Asia will enter into the era of peace, stability and progress, they said.
The leadership termed Burhan Wani and his aides’ martyrdom fourth generation after 1931 to continue the resistance movement.
Calling for observation of July 13th as Reaffirmation Day the people have been asked to assemble in Mazar e Shuhda Naqashband Sahab (RA) where rich tributes would be paid to the martyrs from 1931 to 2016. The whole nation would reaffirm that Kashmiris will not bow down and surrender before India’s forcible occupation till the last armed personnel is out of our Kashmir. The valley will observe complete shutdown on 12th July also to mark the martyrdom of at least 30 youth killed brutally in the last three days by the Indian forces, they said.
Leaders have asked people to observe sit in protest in their nearby mosques as and when curfew is lifted to mark the protest against the oppression. (KNS)
