SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today held a video conference with Deputy Commissioners and district SSPs of Kashmir division to take stock of the Law and Order situation and availability of essential commodities.
The meeting was informed that the law and order situation as compared to previous days, witnessed an improvement.
It was informed that adequate stock of essential commodities is available for the general public in their respective districts and adequate stock of medicines is available in the hospitals and patients are being provided better medicare facilities at all the hospitals across the valley.
Divisional Commissioner directed the IGP Traffic for ensuring smooth movement of vehicles carrying essential commodities to Valley from Jammu. The Director SKIMS, Soura, Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar and Director, Health Services, Kashmir have been directed for ensuring availability of ambulance services for injured round-the-clock.
Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to keep close vigil on the situation and ensure that Police/CPMFS deployed on duty exercise maximum restraint and use non-lethal riot control equipment.
Calling upon the parents to counsel their wards not to take law in to hands and indulge in ran-sacking of public property, the Divisional Commissioner appealed them to assist the local administration in maintaining peace and restoring normalcy in their respective areas.
