SRINAGAR: A group of IPS probationers of batch 2015, called on the Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K Rajendra Kumar at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today and held deliberations on policing and public service.
The interaction was organised by Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar which was also attended by other senior police officers. Director Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, (SVPNPA) Hyderabad, Smt. Aruna Bahughna was present on the occasion.
Mr. Rajendra shared with the probationers successful achievements of Jammu and Kashmir Police. He said that the force right from the independence has faced different challenges which were overcome with dedication and commitment. He also deliberated on the coordination among different security agencies while maintaining peace and order in the State.
DGP asked the probationers to update themselves with the changing scenario at global level, saying that integrity and sovereignty of the Nation should be their priority while delivering to the people. Capacity building would strengthen their command making them competent in making decisions, he added.
During the two hour long interaction with 15 IPS probationers, DGP recalled his training days, when he joined the Academy in 1984 and shared his experience of professional training. He said that training makes the officers competent in every field of policing and helps nurturing new officers for better public deliverance in the field.
The DGP congratulated the officers for choosing police service as their career, saying that they would get large opportunities in the field to deliver the people, providing justice to the needy and destitute. He said that public management, crime investigation and helping hand during natural calamities are the fields, where a police officer could win the hearts of the people. He replied to the questions asked by the probationers during the question-answer session.
Earlier Additional Director General of Police (CID) Mr. SM Sahai gave a detailed power point presentation to the probationers about the history of the State with a comprehensive historical background of JKP. He also spoke about the ups and downs, the force has witnessed with a focus on the sacrifices to keep the National flag afloat.
Among others, the interaction session was also attended by Spl. DG (Coordination), SK Mishra, ADsG, VK Singh, Dibag Singh, L. Mohanti and A.K. Choduary. IsGP, HK Lohia, SJM Gillani and SL Sharma, Dir: Prosecution, Pawan Gupta, DPT Hilal Ahmed, AIsGP, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Ahmed, Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, Kulbir Singh, BA Shah and other police officers.
