SRINAGAR: Inhabitants of several Srinagar areas are facing acute water shortage from past two days and said that the authorities have failed to provide uninterrupted drinking water supply to them.
The residents of several areas including Gow Kadal, Habba Kadal, Fateh Kadal, Mandir Bagh and others told KNS that they are facing immense hardships from past two days due to the shortage of drinking water facility in their areas during Sehri. With the shortage of drinking water in the wee hours of the morning, people here are facing lot of problems. Despite reminders, the PHE authorities have failed to fulfil their promises, they said.
They said that Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has left them on gods mercy, adding that despite tall claims of authorities to have made all arrangements for people during this holy month of Ramadhan, the department has miserably failed to provide drinking water to them.
With such kind of happenings, the authorities are forcing us to take street and block the roads for hours, which will affect the normal life in the area, they said and demanded immediate redressal of their grievances. They appealed Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering (PHE) to look into the hardships and redress their genuine demands at earliest. (KNS)
