SRINAGAR:-Secretary Tourism, Farooq A Shah today took a review meeting of all CEOs and HODs of Tourism and Floriculture departments to evaluate the progress of ongoing developmental works.
Mr. Shah urged the officers to ensure proper arrangements for sanitation and garbage disposal, besides implementing regulatory mechanisms to facilitate tourists. He further instructed the officers to strictly implement the ban on polythene for which a monitoring cell has been established thereby tightening the vigil on violators and negligent officials.
Secretary Tourism stressed for completing the ongoing projects with speed and quality. He also instructed the floriculture department to complete the revival of flood damaged parks and gardens without any further delays as these parks and gardens compliment the tourism industry. Further, MD Cable Car was asked to ensure timely completion of Jammu ropeway project and ensure hassle free Gondola experience for the visitors.
Mr. Shah directed the officers to install necessary apparatus including dust bins, bio toilets and STP’s in all tourist destinations in a time bound manner.
The meeting was attended by Director Floriculture, Talat Parvez, Director Tourism Kashmir, Mehmood A Shah, MD JKTDC, Director SKICC, MD Cable Car, Secretary RSGC, CEOs of different development authorities and other Tourism officials.
