SRINAGAR: Two persons were detained by Special Operation Group (SOG) of police for questioning in connection with the Pampore attack that left eight CRPF men dead and 22 others injured last week.
Reports reaching news agency Global News Service (GNS) that SOG detained two persons namely Naseer Reshi (driver) son of Ghulam Ahmed of Pampore and Suhail Ahmad Hanji son of Ghulam Mohammad of Bujibagh, Pampore.
A senior police officer told GNS that the police team was constituted to probe the how the Fidyeen (militants) reached the spot and who are the people provided them the logistic support. It is a matter of serious concern that militants are being given overwhelming support by the large number of people in Kashmir, he said.
So we are investigating all the angles as there are the reports that a car (white colour) carrying two more militants escaped from the scene, he said.
As far as the detentions are concerned, he said: we have questioned scores of people regarding the attack. It is a part of investigation to probe the all angles where from the militants came. (GNS)
