SRINAGAR: The Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Jawaid Ahmad Shah Thursday visited Gindun Sports Centre, Radapora stadium and Gani Memorial stadium,Srinagar to review the progress of the work going on in the both stadiums, a statement from the media department of the JK SSC said.
According to the statement, he was escorted by the Executive Engineer and Sports Officer Kashmir.
During his visit, the statement said, Jawaid directed the engineering wing to ensure that the leveling of the ground and turfing of field should be completed within 20 days.
In compliance to Hon’ble Chief Minister commitment, the work of the restoration and completion works at Gym halls for both men and women,Library and cafeteria buildings was reviewed and the works are at finishing touches and will be fit for installation of gym equipment within weeks time, the statement read.
He also directed the Sports Officer Kashmir that the regular indoor coaching classes of Thang Ta Martial arts should be started from next week, so that local youths will also take opportunity to represent state at national and international level.
