ANANTNAG:- For the first time in District Anantnag a Green cocoon auction market was organized at Achabal today where farmers from the rearing areas of Brariangan,Brimer, Wangam and Govran participated in the market.
It was the long pending demand of the farmers that green market be established in the District. In this regard Department of Sericulture Anantnag organized green cocoon market on pilot basis. The highest rate offered in the market was Rs. 288 Kg which comes to Rs.864 Kg on dry basis.
Department of Sericulture Anantnag chalked out proper strategy so that such markets are organized on large scale in near future so that farmers do not to wait for long time for auction.
The farmers hailed the steps taken by Sericulture Development Department Anantnag for extending such kind of market facility for their produce. The market was organized in the presence of Deputy Director Sericulture Anantnag who watched the market proceeding along with Tehsil Incharge.
Interacting with farmers Deputy Director Anantnag assured farmers that such market will be established in large scale in near future.
