Hizb calls for election boycott in South Kashmir

Srinagar: Conglomerate of militant outfits, United Jihad Council (UJC) has called for complete boycott of the upcoming by-polls to Anantnag constituency in south Kashmir.

As per  a statement issued to CNS, Syed Salahuddin, the chief of United Jihad Council while addressing a high level meeting said that the elections in Kashmir in presence of 10 lakh heavily armed Indian forces are just military exercises and India uses it as an argument in the international forums to justify its forced occupation here and portrays it as referendum of the Kashmiri people in its favor,” he said adding that this election is just a joke which has no moral or constitutional status,” he said.

“Every household in Kashmir has faced the oppression while the people sacrificed their loved ones for sake of this freedom struggle. It is the time to show respect and protect these sacrifices and the few people who vote in these election dramas are not only committing an act of treason but their actions also lengthen our journey to freedom and acts as oxygen for the Indian forced occupation in Kashmir,” Salahuddin said adding that history will never forgive traitors who support India on cost of Kashmiri people.

He said that Modi-Mufti coalition is trying to change the demographic character of Jammu and Kashmir. “To eliminate Islamic identity and culture, this coalition is hell-bent to impose saffron culture in Valley. A resident of Islamabad can’t justify his participation in sham polling exercise,” he said. (CNS)
