Srinagar: The 52th foundation day ceremony of the Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committees would be held with enthusiasm and motivation on Monday, June 20, 2016 after the Dhur prayers at a special programme at the partys headquarters at Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal.
Giving final shape to the organisations programme, an AAC spokesman, in a statement issued here, said the pioneer of Kashmirs resistance movement, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Yusuf Shah, along with his aides, had laid the foundation of Kashmirs struggle by founding Muslim Conference in 1931 in order to give voice to the voiceless Kashmiris and for carrying their resistance movement forward.
The AAC spokesman said for carrying the same movement forward, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq had laid the foundation of Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee 52 years back on June 20, 1964 and finally achieved martyrdom at a young age while pursuing the same cause.
The spokesman said the main reason of celebrating the foundation day of the Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee was to once again resolve to carry forward Kashmirs resistance movement until it reaches its logical conclusion by adopting the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir and granting Kashmiris their right to self-determination or implementing the already presented suggestion of Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq that the issue be resolved through tripartite talks between Indian, Pakistani and Kashmiri leadership.
The spokesman said the Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee chief and Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq would deliver the presidential address at the function and, besides the AAC activists, office bearers and sympathizers coming from various parts of the Valley, the function would also be attended by a large number of delegates who would pay glowing tributes to the JKAAC founder Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and all the other martyrs of Jammu Kashmir.
He said the participants would also pay tributes to the political prisoners who are detained at various jails in and outside Jammu Kashmir for their role in carrying forward resistance movement and their families for bearing their absence.
The spokesman said on the occasion, it would once again be resolved that no Kashmiri would rest until the Kashmir issue reaches its logical conclusion with the issue being resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
On the occasion, the Mirwaiz would also participate in a ceremony in which the contributions of the Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq for standing up against oppression and falsehood and in favor of freedom would be recalled and the Shaheed-e-Millat would be honoured with the title of Nida-e-Hurriyat (The voice of the Hurriyat).
