Srinagar : Militants have turned the heat on for the poll boycott in south Kashmirs Anantnag segment which is going to the polls on July 22.
Hizbul Mujahideen posters asking people to stay away from the polls were seen pasted at various places in the town warning people against participating in the election, sparking a fresh wave of fear among residents in this south Kashmir township.
Written on a Hizbul Mujahideen letterhead, the poster has a stamped name of one commander Ibn Qasim. “We request people not to participate in the polls or join or go near any election rally,” read the posters.
It further reads that Hizbul Mujahideen warns all those who participate or mobilize people or campaign for the elections to desist from this practice; otherwise they wont be responsible for the consequences. (PTK)
