Tanveer, government said was killed in a shoot-out with forces in Kud on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

On the occasion Malik said, “Kashmir is land where thousands have been brutally killed in fake encounters and in custody and recent killing of Tanveer has also raised many questions.”

“The relatives of this innocent youth are crying that he was going for treatment and has been killed in custody by forces. Circumstances in which this young man was martyred are seriously doubtful. To ascertain truth an international probe should be held in this connection,” Malik said.

While paying rich tributes to slain Sheikh Tanveer, he said, “this family has already sacrificed one son during the present freedom struggle and now has given their second one also for the cause.”
