Srinagar: AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has asked New Delhi not to play with the fire by creating sensational issues. While participating in the debate on grants for revenue, relief and rehabilitation, Er Rasheed said if about 50 Lac Afghan refugees could be send back to their native place by Pakistan, after remaining for more than twenty years in Pakistan with honour and dignity, why cant so called west Pakistani refugees be sent back to their native places in Pakistan? Er Rasheed said,
Why cant the issue of west Pakistani refugees be resolved mutually with Pakistan? These refugees are nothing beyond our guests and there is no question of providing them citizenship or other basic rights. If Central Government is sincere, it should talk to Pakistan and there are universally accepted principles to persuade Pakistan to take these refugees back.
However Er Rasheed added that GOI doesnt want these refugees back to their native country, as it is planning to rehabilitate them in Jammu just to change the demography of the state which would be strongly resisted. Er Rasheed also asked government not to mislead world community over return of Kashmiri Pandits by trying to prove Kashmiri Muslims communal.
If GOI is sincere towards Kashmiri Pandits, it should seek cooperation from all sections of society including Hurriyat Conference and must stop giving packages and privileges to Kashmiri Pandits, as these concessions and incentives act as barriers in their return He added .
Er Rasheed also asked government to take care of the population that has migrated to other side of LOC via Keran, Tanghdar, Uri and Poonch etc and sought their respectable return and rehabilitation. He accused government of caring about problems of just one community and neglecting sufferings of majority community. He lashed out at government for not caring about rehabilitation of those militants who have come back from Pak via Nepal along with their families and said that their lives has turned miserable.
Er Rasheed also sought a concrete package for those who have returned from various jails and added that it is moral and legal responsibility of the government to provide livelihood to jail return militants. He also sought evacuation of Wakaf Property and demanded increase in rent of the land under occupation of army. He sought return of land from the army which it has occupied in every nook and corner of the state. Er Rasheed also asked government to identify the non-state subjects living in various colonies in Jammu province and asked government to understand the seriousness of the matter. (PTK)
