Srinagar :-Opposition legislators Saturday accused PDP-BJP government of supplying sugar to Anantnag district that is slated to go for polls later this month. However, the government denied the accusations.
During Question Hour Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Chaurdhary Zulfikar Ali denied the accusations of the opposition that sugar was being supplied to Anantnag only.
800 quintals of sugar was distributed among beneficiaries in the eight constituencies of the district and not in Anantnag assembly segment only, Ali said.
However, the ministers reply didnt satisfy National Conference MLA from Pahalgam, Altaf Ahmad Wani. Kaloo who demanded breakup of the sugar distribution in each constituency of the district.
Cheeni do vote lo, shouted Kaloo while seeking the intervention of the government.
Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmad Gurezi directed the minister to distribute sugar in entire district.
PDP MLA Javid Mustafa Mir interrupted asking the Opposition to show evidence in the floor of the House if they are accusing the government.
