Srinagar:- Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Public Works, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production, Sunil Kumar Sharma today informed the House that the government will provide round the clock electricity to consumers by the year 2019.
Replying on behalf of the Minister for Power to a question of Surinder Mohan Ambardar, the Minister informed that the department has prepared a road map with Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Government of India for providing 24X7 power supply to all consumers of the state by the year 2019.
Mr. Sharma further informed that the PDD has realized Rs 2287.90 crore as revenue during the last three years. He said the Department received Rs 858.20 crore as revenue in the Year 2015-16 in domestic and commercial category, while as, Rs 717.70 crore in 2014-15 and Rs 712 crore in 2013-14 under both categories.
The Minister said Jammu district has been generating the maximum revenue with Rs. 537.31 crore in 2015-16 and Rs. 512.17 crore in 2014-15.He informed that till date 108 villages in the state are un-electrified with 27 villages in Kashmir province, 19 in Ladakh and 62 villages in Jammu province.
