SRINAGAR: Dawood Sports Bijbehara and Victoria Reds Baramulla emerged victorious in their respective fixtures in Late GM Gilkar Memorial T-20 Cricket tournament played at Boys Higher Secondary School Bijbehara on Friday.
All-round performance by Arshid Khawaja guided Dawood Sports to a comfortable victory in the first match of the day. He played a blistering 19-ball 54 and returned with the ball in the hand to single handedly destroy the batting order of Chitragam Sports, claiming first hat-trick of the tournament. For his all-round performance he walked away with man of the match award.
Earlier batting first Dawood Sports put a daunting total of 202 runs on the board. Chasing a mammoth total, Chitragam openers provided a brisk start stitching 100 run stand for the first wicket, but once the partnership was broken middle order succumb under pressure.
The second match of the day was played between Sheri Kashmir team and Victoria Reds Baramulla which the latter won by five wickets.
Batting first Sheri Kashmir team set a target of 206 on the board. Victoria Reds achieved the target with ease losing only five wickets
Zahoor Ahmad for 54 run knock was adjudged man of the match. The tournament is organized by Bijbehara Cricket Organisation.
