Srinagar: The two day seminar on Unity and Diversity: A Constitutional Perspective organised by the Department of Law Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at Nowgam-I academic block of the varsity concluded here on Thursday.
State Accountability Commission member, Justice (Retd) B. A. Kirmani, Head Department of Law, Dr. Sheikh Showkat, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, seminar coordinator, Mr. Hilal Ahmad, Deans of various Schools, Heads and Coordinators of other departments, faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, State Accountability Commission member, Justice (Retd) B. A. Kirmani, said that the people with different opinions and beliefs in India have to reconcile with each other in order to co-exist. He said that people from different communities have to be accommodated and masses belonging to different sects and religions should be given absolute freedom to perform their religious duties and activities.
Head Department of Law, Prof. Sheikh Showkat, while proposing the vote of thanks, described the seminar as a success and said that several presentations on contemporary topics were made by the participants during the technical sessions.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, congratulated the Law department for holding the seminar and asked them to organise more such events in near future. He also gave a detailed account about the CUK functioning and programmes offered.
Seminar coordinator, Mr. Hilal Ahmad made seminar report presentation and informed the gathering about the presentations made by the participants during these two days.
Assistant Prof. Mrs Gul Afroz conducted the programme proceedings.
