SRINAGAR: Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Khursheed Iqbal Andrabi on Thursday inaugurated Annual Inter College athletic meet at the varsity campus, a handout from the organisers said.
Speaking on the occasion VC Prof Andrabi highlighted the importance of sports and congratulated all participants of various colleges for participating in the event with full enthusiasm.
He also congratulated the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports for organizing the event.
The first day saw participation from almost 20 colleges in which almost 200 players showed their skills.
On the first day of competition 1500mtr run for men and 800mtr run for women were held. According to the statement, Discuss throw for men and women and 100mtr run for men and women events were also conducted on the inaugural day.Director Physical Education and Sports, Prof Nisar Ahmad Rather and special secretary to vice chancellor Dr MS Sumbli were also present. The athletic meet is organised by Directorate of Physical Education and Sports of Kashmir University.
