SRINAGAR: Media-XI team defeated Hindi Newspapers-XI team by a margin of 81 runs in a friendly cricket match played here at KC Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Hindi Newspapers-XI skipper Ashwani Kumar won the toss and opted to field first. Media-XI after being put in put a formidable total of 164 on the board.
Ashu Kumar of Media-XI was the highest scorer contributing 48 off 41 balls while Vivek Suri was the made a solid 26-ball 35.
From Hindi Newspapers-XI team, Naveen Koul was the pick of the bowlers claiming two wickets.
Chasing a target of 164, Hindi Newspapers-XI team was never in the hunt as they were bundled out for a paltry total of 83 runs in 12.2 overs.
Vivek Suri of Media-XI bagged three wickets and for his all-round performance was adjudged man of the match.
The cricket match was organized by KC Sports Club. Chairman, Central Social Welfare Board Kuldeep Sharma, was the Chief Guest for the match.
