Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary said that an amount of Rs. 3383.014 crore has been collected from the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) on account of water usage charges till date.
The Minister was replying to a question by Naresh Kumar Gupta.
The Minister informed the house that an amount of Rs 3455.526 crore including interest has been transferred to Finance Department on account of NHPC water usage charges. While as, he said, the water usage charges deposited by JKSPDC are Rs 20 crore till date.
Mr. Sham Choudhary further informed that the J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority was constituted by the Government in October 2012 which has lived its time period. The constitution of new Authority is under process, he added.
