SRINAGAR: AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed today reiterated his demand to hold plebiscite to resolve Kashmir dispute.
While speaking on the obituary motion to pay homage to former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and others, Er Rasheed said that Mufti had no confusion in his mind and he was a loyal Indian by conviction and being Indian is not a crime.
Er Rasheed said, While Farooq Abdullah and his colleagues ran away from Kashmir in 1990 as every Kashmiri was chanting slogans for Aazadi and Pakistan, Mufti showed courage and took over as Home Minister of India and helped in dealing with the worst situation and followed his conviction. Like Sheikh Abdullah he didnt change the colours, although he changed many parties and forming PDP was his compulsion. If Farooq Abdullah uses to say proudly he is an Indian, Mufti sahib was an India in himself,
Er Rasheed said and added that Mufti was not only a member of the House and CM of the State but father of current CM Mehbooba Mufti and it was shocking that while the House has gathered to pay homage to Mufti sahib, Mehbooba Mufti preferred to stay away from the House, which is deplorable and condemnable.
Er Rasheed while pointing to Speaker said that only way to resolve Kashmir Issue is to hold plebiscite said, If you claim 80 percent of people have casted their votes and shown confidence in Indias democracy why dont you (MLAs) become true Indians and make your voters too Indian by conviction and then accept the challenge to hold the plebiscite, so that dispute is resolved once for all.
