SRINAGAR: Four Jammu and Kashmir footballers- all of them from Jammu- will be taking part in Uttrakhand Super League, a press release from District Football Association, Jammu said Monday.
Arun Naghial, Karun Raina, Gagan Deep Singh and Amrit Pal Singh will ply their trade in the league that has been modeled on Indian Super League. The players were selected after appearing for selection trials at Pavilion Ground, Dehradun on May 14 and 15.
The month tourney-having legendary Bhaichung Bhutia as brand ambassador- will start from June 15. The league is recognized and supported by All India Football Federation (AIFF).
J&Ks Arun Malhotra has been roped in as technical advisor. He hoped that four players taking part in the USL will inject more interest in footballers from his home city of Jammu to work hard and explore opportunities in professional football beyond our state of J&K.
