SRINAGAR: Lone Star Kashmir Football Clubs (LSKFC) poor run extended another, as tourists Neroca Football Club Sikkim upstaged them 3-1 in what turned out to be a one-sided affair in the final round fixture of 2nd Division I-League played at Astro-Turf TRC Ground on Monday.
The game-LSKFCs penultimate fixture this season- was witnessed by a decent crowd but failed to live up to its billing with the home side failing bring its top form into the fore, leaving the crowd quite stunned.
It was a very quick start to the game with Neroca FC all over LSKFCs defence and managing to draw first blood. With a goal in arrears, LSKFCs buoyed by the crowd support upped the ante to find an equalizer through Ifham. The teams went into half-time break locked at 1-1.
Neroca FC were a more aggressive side in the second half, mounting pressure on the LSKFCs defence which under the assault to concede back to back goals. It was all Neroca FC as LSKFC goalkeeper made basic errors one after another. When the final whistle blew, Neroca FC were sitting pretty with scoreline showing 4-1 in their favour.
LSKFC are already out of the competition, having been hit by poor form in the final round of the league after making an impression in the first round fixtures.
The J&Ks only professionally side play their last fixture against Gangtok Football Club next week.
