Srinagar :- Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr Kavinder Gupta today said adequate facilities would be provided to the media to ensure fair reporting of the proceedings of upcoming Budget session of the legislature commencing from May 25, 2016.
The Speaker was addressing the Press Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting held here in the meeting hall of the Assembly Legislature Complex.
Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmed Gurezi was also present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on providing accommodation to media persons who will be arriving from outside the state, issuance of entry passes, seating arrangements in Press Gallery, parking and Canteen facilities etc.
Speaker sought cooperation from the print and electronic media in highlighting the issues of public interest raised by the legislators in the House during the session. He said that each political party will be given due time to raise their public interest issues.
While responding to the demands of accommodation facilities for media persons, the Speaker said that 15 rooms have been kept available in Circuit House for the media persons which will be allotted as per the norms.
Director Information and Public Relations, Muneer-ulIslam briefed the meeting about the arrangements put in place for the Print and Electronic Media for smooth coverage of the house.
The meeting was attended by Secretary, Assembly Mohammad Ramzan, Inspector General of Police, Security, J&K, SSP Traffic Srinagar, SSP Security, Civil Secretariat, representatives of Doordarshan News, All India Radio, National and local media persons from different News Agencies and senior officers of Assembly Secretariat.

SRINAGAR:- The Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today sought cooperation from print and electronic media in highlighting the public interest issues raised by the Legislators in the Upper House during the ensuing budget session commencing from 25th of this month.
The Chairman was interacting with a group of media-persons to review the arrangements made for the coverage of upcoming session of Upper House.
The Chairman said media has a pivotal role in highlighting the issues of public interest. He appealed the media fraternity to give wide publicity to the proceedings of the House in a fair manner.
Director Information and Public Relations, Mr Muneer-ul-Islam informed the meeting about the arrangements made for smooth coverage of the session. He assured the meeting that full cooperation will be given to media persons both print and electronic in highlighting the public interest issues.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Council, Mr. Abdul Majeed Bhat, Assistant Director, DD News, Mr. Qazi Salman, Programme Executive, AIR, Mr Maqsood Hussain and representatives from various media organizations and other senior officers of Council Secretariat.
