Srinagar:- To promote Jammu Kashmir as an ideal MICE destination, JK Tourism department is participating in three-day Global MICE Travel Mart in New Delhi that began on Thursday.
An official of the department said that hundreds organizers from across the globe are participating as buyers in the conference.
The mega event is a joint effort by FICCI, ICPB and Ministry of Tourism GOI aimed to showcase the MICE tourism potential of the country.
The tourism department has send a team of officers who presented the JK as ideal destination for round the year.
Shahnawaz of SKICC gave a presentation of the available Mice infrastructure in the state, specifically in Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg tourist destinations.
SKICC was presented for its world class conferencing infrastructure and the buyers from abroad were impressed by the said facility in Srinagar and showed interest to organise conferences and events in the valley of Kashmir.
The presentation was followed by an interactive session and it was informed that the Govt of JK has thrown open the Cheshmashahie cottages and packaged it with golf and conference tourism with special rates.
The JK Tourism participated for B to B meetings today and will take part tomorrow to interact with the buyers from across the country and abroad.
Secretary Tourism Farooq A Shah said that the efforts to promote conference and golf tourism will continue to utilize the immense potential in the said segments of the tourism.
