Srinagar: Civil Secretariat employees have cancelled the boycott programme of the upcoming Assembly session following assurances by the government to redress their demands.
Chairman Civil Secretariat Employees Coordination Committee Ghulam Rasool Mir told KNS that the boycott programme has been cancelled after the union leaders held a meeting with top officials of the state about resolution of the issues.
Mir said that after the direction of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti a meeting was held with the Chief Secretary of the state, B R Sharma, Financial Commissioner BB Vyas, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Kumar Choudhary, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Gazanfar Ali and Commissioner Secretary Law Muhammad Ashraf Mir and DG Codes in Civil secretariat.
The employees had called for the boycott over poor response, delaying tactics of the government with regard to career progression of non-gazetted/Class IV employees and pay anomaly.
We held deliberations on our pending issues, and the government assured to resolve our issues within 15 days. We are thankful to the CM, Finance Minister and Chief Secretary-led Committee for paying attention to our grievances, Mir told KNS.
