Srinagar: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today visited old Assembly premises, situated on the banks of river Jhelum and inspected Library complex, garden besides some old structures there.
The Minister was accompanied by Secretary Law, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Secretary Assembly, Mohammad Ramzan, Secretary Council, Abdul Majid and other concerned officers.
On the occasion, Veeri said that the old Assembly complex had a historical background which can be better utilized for construction of new Assembly Hall with Central Hall facilities. He directed the concerned to move a proposal for construction of the Hall at the site and submit it to the government for consideration.
Later, the Minister visited SKICC where Governor, N. N. Vohra is schedule to address the joint session of Legislators on May 25, 2016. Veeri inspected the Auditorium Hall and took stock of arrangement of the same. He directed concerned for making proper sitting arrangements for Legislators, VVIPs, Guests, Officers and Media persons.
