Srinagar: People Democratic Party (PDP) has appreciated the government drive to clean the capital city of Srinagar from every bottle neck causing congestion and traffic jam. The drive has been taken to a successful culmination by providing every section of the society the much needed relief.
The traffic on roads is smooth and traders, school children, office going employees, the labour class, patients, and the pedestrians do acknowledge the seriousness of the government and the personal intervention of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in having the problem resolved without any hassles.
The party thanks Mehbooba Mufti and takes satisfaction in the fact that vendors who were displaced through the drive have been immediately rehabilitated.
The first batch of 593 vendors was yesterday provided an alternative market place in the transport yard which speaks about the sincerity, care and compassion of the Chief Minister and the concern for effectees while under taking a welfare measure.
Senior leaders of the party Khurshid Alam , Noor Mohammad Sheikh and Anjum Fazilli, Mudasir Amin the legislators and office bearers from Srinagar have assured the other displaced vendors and kiosks owners from Batmaloo and other areas of the city of equal concern. They said that since government is meticulously serious about the livelihood of the labour class . the effectees will duly by accommodated by 28th of this month as assured by the Commissioner Municpal Corporation Srinagar through public pronouncement.
The PDP leaders said that Srinagar remains in focus of the Chief Minister and her dream of elevating this to smart city status has well begun on the opening of the new secretariat. The opening of Partap Park, simultaneously is another evidence of the chartered course for the Chief Minister as envisaged by party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
The leaders enumerated the functioning of various department involved in the city ambiance and infrastructure building and said that river Jehlum will soon be transferred into a navigational route for locals and tourists. The interest of Mehbooba Mufti in restoring the pristine glory of Srinagar city is manifest from many other, her directions to safe guard the historical and religious places of the city and raise the necessary infrastructure as earlier possible.
