Fee Hike: KU Campus Erupts Against ‘Crony Capitalism’

SRINAGAR: Students staged angry protests Monday in Kashmir University campus against the latest fee hike by the varsity authorities.

Eyewitnesses said that students took out a march through the lawns of the university and raised slogans against the varsity authorities.

“It is nothing but the varsity officials are following the crony capitalism,” a student said, “recently university made 250 percent increase in the examination fee of an affiliated college which is nothing but making it hard for poor students to continue studies.”

The students are holding a sit-in protest in front of the Humanities Block demanding roll back of the fee hike order.
