Srinagar: Taking serious note of the atrocities inflicted upon the girl students at Tahira Khanum College of Education, State Womens Commission Saturday said that it directed the College authorities to identify and take action against those teaching staff who thrashed girl students during a dance competition.
This is unacceptable that teachers sit on chairs and enjoy Bollywood music and when it comes to Kashmiri folk music, they thrash girl students wearing pehran to perform Rouf. State Womens Commission Chairperson Nayeema Mehjoor said.
Pertinently, a few days back during a cultural programme, some teachers from Tahira Khanum College of Education thrashed girl students when they tried to perform during a cultural programme.
It is really sorry to state that some people dont feel comfortable with the female folk and try to suppress the voice and activities of the girls, she said.
