Srinagar : Government has made a proposal of purchasing new 200 buses for Kashmir valley as part of its efforts to promote use of public transport among people.
A proposal has been made to purchase new 200 buses for the Valley. We want to set up best transport system in the Valley like world class transport system of America and Japan, Managing Director SRTC Sofi Ghulam Mohammad told PTK.
The Managing Director said Transport Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma recently flagged off a luxury bus which will ply from Srinagar to Delhi and within the Valley.
The particular bus called Scania Metro link is a multipurpose, medium and long distance coach. We want to get the response from the general public about the bus so that it is also started on other routes like Srinagar to Ajmar, Srinagar to Chandigarh. So far it has been plying within the Valley.”
Sofi said the SRTC was also committed to provide best transport system to tourists who visit from different parts of the World.
