Srinagar: Kashmir even after all the unrest within, has embraced heaven on earth ever since. The lush landscape of Kashmir, manages to steal hearts of any being on the face of this earth, perhaps God as well. Reportedly a leading travel magazine has ranked the state as the best romantic destination in India. It seems the season of romance is here to stay for long this time in Kashmir.
Kashmir which is called the paradise on earth has been ranked second to Switzerland in the world rankings of top romantic destination by Lonely Planet magazine. This comes as sweet reward to the lovely land of Kashmir and the tourists who visit the Valley say it is the romance in Kashmirs air which keeps bringing them back here. Shikara boats to cruise Srinagars Dal lake is one of the major attraction and sets a picture perfect romance for those who come with their beloved. The tourism of Kashmir didnt take a back seat, even with all the perceptions of unrest in the land of state.
It was not long ago when Kashmir got hit by militancy, which surely affected the abundant presence of lovely landscapes in Bollywood romantic movies. The valley was able to gather lot of traffic in tourism because of the romedy movies featuring the lush landscapes in those times. Now that Kashmir has gained the most romantic tag from Lonely Planet, we hope to see Kashmir once again reviving in cinema, rather than foreign locations.The successive governments deserves appreciation for their efforts to make Kashmir a safe and embracing tourist destination which caters to around 4000 tourists arriving daily in Srinagar.
Mr Daga, a tourist from Mumbai says We came here in 1999. Now, after 18 years, I have come again with my wife and my kids as quoted saying on NDTV. He also praised how beautiful Kashmir is and believes one cannot find a better place than Kashmir.
