Srinagar: Though the authorities banned vendors to work in the city especially in city centre Lal Chowk, the Youngmen Footpath Union (YFU) on Saturday appealed government to permit them to conduct business at their existing respective location till an alternative space will not be provided.
In a letter to KNS, the union appealed Chief Minister and other authorities to allow them to conduct their business at their existing respective locations till an alternative space will not be provided as assured by the government.
They said that with banning their work from last ten days, they are facing immense hardships. With such situation, our school going children is apprehended to be affected as we cannot be able to bear and afford their schoolings and other expenses, besides the domestic expenditure cannot be met under such circumstances, they said.
The vendors said that they should be allowed to conduct their business at their existing locations for some time till the government will not provide any alternative space to them.
They appealed higher ups to redress their grievances on humanitarian basis and said that they are sure that they will be absolved of the problem.
