Srinagar: Asking State Government to clear the air about its proposed plan of setting up of separate colonies for migrant Pandits in Kashmir Valley, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday warned that it will have serious ramifications if Israeli type settlements are created in Valley.
Addressing a jam packed press conference here, Muhammad Yasin Malik alleged that Mehbooba Mufti led government has been confusing people here. Come what may, we will not allow separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits. They (Pandits) are our brothers and they are welcome here and can live as other Pandits live here but not in separate colonies, Malik said.
Reiterating that the Pandits of the valley are part and parcel of J&K, Malik, however said that, there is no question of allowing composite colonies.
He claimed that the proposed KP Townships are on the pattern of Israeli settlements in Palestine. We wont allow it.
Pertinently, the Government spokesperson and senior Minister Naeem Akhtar on Thursday said the government was going ahead with construction of townships.
We want to set up townships as the Government is keen to get Kashmiri Pandits back with respect and dignity, he had said.
Muhammad Yasin Malik said that PDP-BJP Government spokesperson is being used as a tool to concoct stories and lies. He alleged that since Mehbooba Mufti took over the reins of Jammu and Kashmir, atrocities, killings and mayhems have increased manifold.
Malik also opposed the establishment of proposed Sainik colony in the state.
The colony, whether it is being established for sainiks of Jammu and Kashmir or those from India, we wouldnt let it happen, said Malik.
He said the government is also planning to provide land for outside businessmen the state. Now the government has been claiming that it will revisit the policy and we all know what kind of review it will be. There will be a social boycott against all those local businessmen who will go for partnership with the outside state businessmen and will be be found hand in glove with government helping it to bring outsiders here, Malik said adding that, we will oppose all these three anti-Kashmir policies (Pandit townships, Sainik Colony and New Industrial Policy) even if we need to shed our blood on the roads, warned Malik.
He said that Kashmiris knew the motives behind these policies and accused the government of creating confusion among people by talking about these colonies repeatedly. (CNS)
