Srinagar: Police have arrested Medical Superintendent Unani Hospital Shaltang Dr Javid Ahmad on the charges of raping a woman in North Kashmirs Bandipora district.
According to the police sources, a woman (name withheld) of Ajas Sumbal of Bandipora has lodged a complaint that Dr Javid had raped her when the accused had gone to meet victims husband at their home, the week before. Following which the accused has been arrested and lodged in custody of Police Station Sumbal.
A senior police official said the accused has been booked under Section 376 and 342 with FIR No 62/2016.
Medical examination of the woman has established the assault, the police official said.
