SRINAGAR: The Director General, Information & Public Relations, Zaffar Ahmad Bhat Saturday retired from government service after putting in 32 years of distinguished career.
He headed the Information Department four times.Respected for his integrity and dedication, Mr. Zaffar has been a recipient of Chief Ministers Gold Medal for honesty and integrity. He has served the State distinctively as Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Secretary Tourism, Excise Commissioner, Special Secretary in Chief Ministers Secretariat, Director Handicrafts and Special Secretary in Governors Secretariat and.
Earlier, the officers and officials of the Information Department bid an emotional farewell to Zaffar and recalled his contribution in resolving the problems of employees. They hailed his employee friendly attitude and dedication towards work terming it as inspirational
Srinagar: Muneer-ul-Islam on Saturday formally resumed the charge of Director Information.
Islam had earlier discharged his duties as Director Information twice while his role in rejuvenating the department was widely hailed.
During the recent cabinet decision Muneer was again posted as Director Information but some legislators from the ruling PDP where pitching for his appointment as the deputy commissioner Pulwama.
Muneer-ul-Islam had to resume the charge of the director information after Zaffar Ahmad Bhat got relieved from his services.
