Srinagar: In connection with the World Book Day a day-long exhibition of rare books and manuscripts organized by Deputy Directorate of Libraries & Research, Kashmir was held at SPS Library here today.
The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, inaugurated the exhibition and lauded the work of the organizers. He said the administration will provide all possible support in maintaining and digitization of the rare books and manuscripts.
On the occasion some rare manuscripts and texts in English, Urdu, Arabic, Persian and Sanskrit languages were put on display to the treat of book lovers.
Deputy Director Libraries & Research Kashmir, Ahmad Hussain, said the aim of the holding such exhibitions is to attract people to Libraries He said there are about 79 government libraries in Kashmir division and from this year books related to competitive exam will also be added to the collection of books to facilitate the students.
