Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today in a condolence meeting at Srinagar expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Dr Muhammad Afzal Khan ex professor of Medicine who breathed his last yesterday after a brief illness.
Saddened over the death, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement said that Dr Afzal was a sincere, dedicated and a hard working doctor.
He was kind, compassionate, honest, and highly disciplined and above all a great human being.
Dr Khan graduated from GMC Srinagar and after completing his MD Medicine pursued his fellowship in Medical Oncology in Australia.
He started Medical Oncology in SMHS hospital which brought immense relief to Cancer patients who otherwise had to go outside state for treatment.
His death has created a vacuum in the field of medicine and is a great loss to the medical fraternity in general and patients in particular who were under his treatment and follows up.
Meanwhile a delegation of DAK led by its president Dr Nisar ul Hassan today visited the residence of deceased at Sanat Nagar and expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
DAK prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and sympathized with the bereaved family.
