SRINAGAR: Director General of Police, (DGP) Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar has stressed on better synergy among law enforcing agencies to ensure safety and security of the people.
Mr. Rajendra said this while chairing a high level meeting of senior police, para-military and intelligence officers at Police Control Room (PCR) here today. The meeting was convened to take stock of security, law and order situation in the Valley.
Stressing for greater coordination among different law enforcing agencies, the DGP said that rule of law is our prime concern and JKP along with other security agencies has done a commendable job in fighting militancy during past 25 years for which they have offered supreme sacrifices of their lives. He said that the success achieved on the anti-militancy front and in maintaining law and order was due to the peoples cooperation with the forces.
Calling the officers for strengthening intelligence grid, the DGP said that while dealing with the situations, the cops should take special care of the human rights and every effort, precaution should be taken to avoid collateral damages. Better policing and peoples cooperation are mandatory to achieve desired results and JKP would make effort to get the wholehearted cooperation of the people of the State, said Mr. Rajendra.
Emphasizing upon the officers to adopt an effective strategy to check the anti-nationals elements , Mr. Rajendra said that while conducting operations, it should be ensured that common people are not put to inconvenience. He said that input sharing among different agencies is necessary to foil sinister designs of bad elements.
The meeting also discussed various issues regarding Amar Nath Yatra and proposed local bodies elections in the State. It was informed that in view of local bodies election, annual darbar move and yatra, security agencies would have to remain more vigilant and chalk out a comprehensive security, deployment plan to ensure secure atmosphere.
Earlier, IGP Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani and other officers apprised the meeting about over all security, law & order situation in the Valley. They also briefed the meeting about the successful operations conducted during past two months.
Among others, the meeting was attended by JD IB Kashmir, Harmeet Singh, IG CRPF, Nalin Prabhat, IGP Armed/IRP Kashmir, Deepak Kumar, Addl. Commissioner SB Kashmir, M. Rajamurugan, DIsGP, Nitish Kumar and GH Bhat, DIG CRPF Srinagar, KK Sharma, Sr.SsP, Amit Kumar, Vivek Gupta, RK Jala and Showkat Hussain and other police officers.
