JAMMU : Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organized a mega Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) at Bhalwal today.
MLA Raipur Domana, Bali Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion.
More than 300 educated unemployed youth of block Balwal participated in the programme and were made aware about various central and state sponsored schemes implemented by the Institute, under which assistance is provided to establish employment generating ventures in different sectors
A detailed overview of other entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by JKEDI was provided to the participants with special focus on NMDFC under which financial assistance is provided to aspiring entrepreneurs at six percent per annum simple interest rate.
It was also informed that under the Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS), 35 percent of the total project cost is provided by JKEDI as seed money and the rest is financed by JK Bank at the concessional rates of interest. Under Youth Start-Up Scheme (YSLS), soft loans at six percent simple interest are provided to educated unemployed youth to start their entrepreneurial ventures.
Five successful entrepreneurs who have established their units under various schemes of JKEDI were also facilitated on the occasion.
Among others Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan, Chief Program Officer, JKEDI, Mohammad Numan, District Nodal Officer, BDO, Bhalwal and Sarpanches of the Block were also present in the camp.
