Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today distributed relief cheques among traders from Srinagar and Kulgam districts.
The government has already ordered that all flood affected traders should be compensated within the next ten days and in the initial phase only non-insured shopkeepers are being covered whose business turnover is upto Rs 5 lakhs and from Rs 5-10 lakhs.
Traders from Naz road, Huzuribagh, Kabadi market, Karanagar, Sheikh-UL-Alam market, Durhahnag, Bagh-e-Nandsingh, Sajadabad, KP Bagh and Batamaloo were provided relief cheques amounting to Rs 25.75 lakh by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. He also distributed cheques to the tune of Rs 17.40 lakh among 36 traders of Kulgam district. The Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Syed Abid Hussain was also present on the occasion.
Traders thanked the administration for early redressal of their grievances.
