Jammu: Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar has said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been playing a significant role in overall development of youth by promoting their talent in different spheres. He said that the Organisation under its Civic Action Programme has undertaken various initiatives to benefit the weaker section of the society, besides honing the hidden talent of youth.
Rajndra was speaking at a function organised to receive the girl students from their tour, at Officers Mess Gulshan Ground here today. The group of 61 girl students during their tour had interactions with various personalities, eminent sports person and artists. They visited Besant Nagar Beach, Marina Beach, Mahaballipuram Panch Padava Raths, Chamundi Hills, Mysore Lake Zoo, The Lal Bagh Cubbon Park,Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore Palace, Tipu Sultan Palace, Raj Ghat, Jamia Masjid, Red Fort, Hymayun Tomb, Qutub Minar, Raj Path and India Gate.
DGP said that JKP has undertaken different activities for betterment of students of far-flung areas by providing them platform to excel. With the changing time our girl students are outshining by proving their abilities and it is our responsibility to encourage and motivate them to excel in various fields, said the DGP. He asked the students to share their experiences with their friends and take benefit of the knowledge they have gained during the visit.
Earlier Commandant IRP 15th (Mahila Battalion) Anita Sharma informed that the group was accompanied by SP Savita Parihar and other officers. They were given proper care during their tour, besides their activities were covered by a photographer accompanying the group, she said.
On the occasion the students presented the photographs of the places, they visited during the tour. They lauded the efforts of the organisers for arranging the tour in a befitting manner.
Rajendra expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made by the nodal officer for the tour and the officers accompanying the students for providing better care during the 12 days national tour. He distributed gifts among the students, who sung patriotic songs on the occasion.
Among others, the function was attended by ADsGP S P Vaid, S M Sahai, IsGP, A K Choudhary, H K Lohia, Yoginder Koul, Danish Rana, M A Khan and S L Sharma, DIG, A A Wani, AIsGP, Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Tahir Sajad, SSsP, Uttam Chand, Sham Sunder, Deepak Kumar Salathia, Cos of Armed and IRP Battalions and other police officers. (KNS)
